my ex girlfriend and i were sitting by a fire. we had been through so much together. we had spent a couple years making beautiful memories, getting to know every detail of each other, fighting and breaking each others hearts. we always had so much to say. this time it was quiet. i was pulling leaves from the branches of the tree beside us and throwing them into the fire. she was grabbing the small rocks surrounding us and casting them in. after years of going back and forth, i think we both knew our time was finally up. there was a bittersweet feeling filling the atmosphere around us. soon after, she sent me a poem she had written titled ‘throwing leaves, casting stones’. it was beautiful, as her writing often was. a year went by and i reflected on that moment in time, and all that had happened since. writing and releasing songs was my way of keeping in touch. this was my last message to her. owner recieves: -access to private demo playlist -.wav file -.jpeg artwork
